Akashdeep Rawat is a highly experienced software engineer with a strong background in computer networking. Currently working as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMWare, Akashdeep is a skilled DevOps and SRE professional with expertise in GNU Debugger, DevSecOps, Linux, and Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance(ASA)/Firepower Threat Defense(FTD). In his current role, Akashdeep works on SaaS using Docker, K8s, GoLang, and Microservices. Prior to joining VMWare, Akashdeep worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for developing security features such as Access Control lists, Scansafe Cloud Web Security, Policy Based Routing(PBR), IKEV1, IKEV2 based L2L(Lan to Lan)/S2S (Site to Site) RA(Remote Access) VPN, MOBIKE(RFC 4555), PKI, VTI(Virtual Tunneling interface) of L2L VPN, and Anyconnect SSL based RA VPN. Akashdeep also has experience working with technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Mesos, GIT, Bitbucket, and Gradle, and has worked on Cisco Firepower Threat Defence's Firewall Engine, SNORT, and DAQ components as a core member of the Build Framework Team. In addition to his professional experience, Akashdeep has also worked as a Summer Intern at Sarada Research Labs, where he integrated Sysmex and Mini-Vidas (Medical test machines) with RKMS Hospital’s Central Database and built a local website to access this Data. He wrote drivers coded in C separately for Sysmex KX21 and Mini-Vidas, communicated via Serial Port Communication with Host computer as per pre-defined Standard Protocols for the Machines, generated CSV files for each day and stored in central database using fully automated Windows batch scripts. Akashdeep holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. With almost a decade of relevant experience, Akashdeep is a highly skilled and knowledgeable software engineer with a strong track record of success in his field.
