Akashdeep Thakur is a seasoned Principal DevOps Engineer with over 11 years of experience in a vast array of technologies. He is currently working at Informatica, where he is responsible for designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS. He is also involved in the lift and shift of existing on-premises applications to AWS, estimating AWS costs, and identifying cost control mechanisms. Prior to Informatica, Akashdeep worked as a DevOps Engineer at Hewlett Packard, where he was responsible for information management and governance products. He was also involved in obstacle management and building automated CI/CD pipelines for various projects. He has extensive experience in infrastructure management and orchestration using Chef and Ansible, as well as artifact management using Artifactory. Akashdeep was also responsible for automating day-to-day activities and building pipeline steps for smooth release. Before joining Hewlett Packard, Akashdeep worked at Cisco as a DevOps Engineer. He was responsible for technical leadership, IT solutions, innovation, and strategizing based on the latest industry technology trends aligned to Infrastructure Automation, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD). He worked in an agile development team to deliver an end-to-end continuous integration/continuous delivery product in an open-source environment/proprietary products. He has extensive experience in DevOps tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, AWS, Vagrant, ANT, Maven, Jenkins, Git, Stash, Jira, Rally, Subversion, Sonarqube, Jfrog Artifactory, and Nexus.
