Akhil Sahdev is a seasoned DevOps practitioner with over 7 years of experience in designing and automating efficient and resilient systems. He has worked on multiple cloud-based infrastructure solutions for businesses, employing the best DevOps practices in their culture and processes. Akhil has also briefly been involved in Agile development of web applications. Akhil's expertise lies in designing, orchestrating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and workflows using GoCD, Jenkins, and ArgoCD. He has leveraged Chef to create infrastructure on AWS, provision systems, and manage environments in a test-driven development fashion. Akhil has designed and architected resilient and tested Infrastructure Automation repositories, models, modules, and environments with Terraform on AWS. He has also set up and designed alerting and monitoring systems for traditional server-based infrastructure as well as container-based infrastructure using Prometheus and Alertmanager. Akhil is currently working on an MLOps project with EKS and has written runbooks, designed code development guidelines, and implemented DevOps and DevSecOps processes in an Agile fashion. He has conducted code reviews, automated code quality and coverage checks, guided teams on best code practices for infrastructure and configuration code, and engaged in cost-cutting activities to constantly monitor and bring down costs of the infrastructure. Akhil has also implemented and directed Agile practices/ceremonies in the team, including sprint planning, estimation strategies, calculation of raw velocity, planning capacity, retrospectives, and sprint reviews. In addition to his DevOps expertise, Akhil has developed a multitude of features in .NET and Silverlight for numerous different applications and has worked with Golang for web applications as well as in the IoT space, writing hardware drivers for RaspberryPi. He has a good grasp of C and C++. Akhil has worked as a DevOps Consultant at ThoughtWorks and as an Application Developer at the same company before that. He is currently a Senior DevOps Engineer at Paytm. Akhil holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from PES University and completed his Higher Secondary education in Mathematics and Computer Science from Somerville School - India.
