Akriti Verma is a Researcher in Applied Artificial Intelligence with a passion for analysis and problem-solving. She holds a Master's degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. With a multi-tasking mindset and a drive to seize every opportunity, she constantly applies engineering principles to engineer solutions. In her academic research experience, Akriti has analyzed farm-dams for methane emissions by estimating water quality and studied ways to examine the health of natural vegetation leveraging active vegetation index. In her industry experience, she worked as a Researcher at Tata Consultancy Services, where she co-developed a PDF reader which extracts text from images using Deep Learning for Sentiment Analysis and Opinion Mining and designed an enterprise knowledge assisted dialogue system using Deep Learning focused specifically on intra-organizational use-cases. Akriti also has mentorship experience, having worked as a Peer Mentor for the Peer Support Network program under Students helping Students at Deakin University. She has mentored junior and fellow students in data structures and algorithms during graduation. In terms of development experience, Akriti has developed an application to evaluate the health of green fields during her capstone at Deakin University and developed the mobile and TV Applications for video streaming and file sharing during an internship at Shortfundly (India). She also developed a mobile application for an online paper presentation contest for the technical festival at her college during graduation. Currently, Akriti works as a Peer Support Network Mentor at Deakin University, where she organizes weekly sessions with a mentor partner for new students to help them through their first few weeks on campus. She also volunteers at programs like Social Sports to provide continuous support and encourage student engagement. Akriti's past companies include Tata Consultancy Services and Shortfundly, where she worked as a Researcher and Android Application Developer, respectively. Akriti's tech stack includes Research Scientist, Deep Learning, Mobile, Sentiment Analysis, and Android.
