Working on new ideas / initiatives to improve customer experience in the new quick commerce era of grofers.

Organisational or functional boundaries of ownership do not exist now, which has been the biggest source of both joy and struggle for me in this role. I am realising I have a lot to learn on how to convert crazy dreams into reality at scale, when there are multiple moving pieces of the physical and digital world involved in execution.

As usual at grofers, it's a fun ride.

Looked after consumer experience and product led growth.

Worked on launching / scaling / maintaining / killing initiatives like club membership, group buying, referral, recommendations, personalisation, loyalty points. Apart from this, there were a LOT of fun growth hacks - biggest ones I can remember being the 100% cashback, lucky draw, scratch cards, pre-booking etc. we did for the GOBD sale.

The latest big bet was express delivery, where I was hands-on in the discovery and initial scale-up. We built the initial tech, setup the first dark-stores as well as just-in-time fresh operations and created the blueprint which we have now adopted, after a radical transformation to the promise of 10-minute deliveries, as the strategic pivot for the company. I can in no way take the credit for most of it, but it was a privilege to be on this fun ride when it was just starting.

Started with search, and then the entire product shopping journey. Worked hands-on on various parts including search, category navigation and membership program.

Led product building. Primary product was a crowd-sourcing based app for getting realtime info about public transport.

Developed the entire backend on Python / Django / PostgreSQL.
Handled dev-ops using fabric, AWS EC2 and elastic beanstalk.
Also built parts of user / internal apps on Android / Java.

Led the team to execute many design projects. Together we built the company from scratch to a position where it started getting a steady stream of valuable projects and became a well-known name in the industry.

- Member of the bridges design team in the Engineering Design and Management Section
- Involved in design/construction of many kinds of structures including cable stayed and balanced cantilever bridges, segmental construction, city flyovers etc.
- Prepared designs and oversaw drawing preparation (including getting approval from clients) for many bridges, flyovers and related structures, including cable stayed bridge across a major river in india
- Managed design related issues in ongoing projects to ensure smooth construction and handle with any deviations from original designs. Coordinated with design consultants, planning team and site team to ensure timely solutions to any technical problems at site
