Akshat Runwal is a passionate tech enthusiast who believes in transforming ideas into reality through code. He is a proficient programmer in Python, C, and Go Lang and has experience in Software Development, Web Development, and Data Analytics. Akshat has completed several software projects with different tech stacks for multiple domains like game development, web development, and data science. He has also hosted apps using cloud services like Heroku along with Github for version control and collaboration. Apart from his technical skills, Akshat has an ardent interest in Mathematics and sports. He is currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previously, he worked as an Associate Software Engineer at IndiaMART, India's largest online B2B marketplace. At IndiaMART, Akshat was responsible for tracking the information trail that a user leaves behind while visiting a webpage on IndiaMart websites. He optimized APIs in distributor consumer for inclusion of CSL Activity Data for PNS Reverse Lookup process, which is expected to connect ~50k calls between buyers/suppliers per week. He migrated the code of consumer APIs from RabbitMQ to Kafka in Go for real-time data streaming and processing. He also performed dynamic creation of tables according to date-time in Cassandra using Go and refactored the code of 20+ consumers in Go for improving the design, structure, and centralizing of the architecture of the directory. He used Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, alerting, and visualizing the real-time data from the live website. Akshat has also worked as a Back End Developer at Dhirtek Business Research and Consulting Pvt. Ltd. where he worked as a freelancer on back-end projects related to automation and web scraping. He performed web scraping using BeautifulSoup from the competitors’ websites and facilitated overhauling the strategies. He automated the feeding of data on the company’s web portal using selenium, which resulted in a 50% reduction in cost. He mechanized the creation of a Table of Content by transforming data using NumPy and pandas and automated the process of sending emails to the customers using Python. Akshat is currently looking for a Summer 2023 internship that will help him boost his knowledge and skills in his domain of work.
