Akshay Katare is an experienced Backend Developer with a strong background in video streaming, OTT, media, AWS, RTSP, RTMP, SRT, HLS, Wowza, ffmpeg, Alexa Smart Home, Terraform, and server-side ad insertion. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Brightcove, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining backend systems and services. Akshay has a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry, with over 6 years of relevant experience. He is skilled in Python, C++, Java, and BASH, and has a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from Fergusson College. Prior to joining Brightcove, Akshay worked as a Senior Software Engineer at GS Lab, where he developed a component from scratch as per the clients' requirement, tested newly developed code on a variety of devices, and mentored junior members. He also worked as a Software Engineer at GS Lab, where he owned a component and executed day-to-day tasks within the component, designed and developed a module as per the client requirements, efficiently interacted with clients for the development of new features, debugged and fixed the issues found during testing of the component, and worked on production issues.
