Akshay Sekar is a Credit Portfolio Analyst at Fidelity Investments, with a focus on sustainable debt. He has extensive experience in fin-tech, quantitative research, and portfolio management, particularly in fixed income asset management. Currently, he is working with the long duration credit desk, implementing rebalancing strategies to manage funds, while also building thematic ESG funds based on quantitative analysis of a firm's ESG disclosure and progress. He is keen on discussions surrounding sustainable investing and its growth across sectors, with a strong interest in optimization, macro research, and IG credit. With 2.68 years of relevant experience, Akshay has worked with Fidelity Investments in the past, where he was involved in building fixed income funds to implement Fidelity's ESG strategies. He has also worked as a Quantitative Research Intern with Strategic Advisers Inc., where he developed a prototype to help Investment Managers make Asset Location decisions, working with the Portfolio Engineering R&D team on optimizing Separately Managed Accounts in an effort to manage Personalized Portfolios for Mass Affluent clients in a Scalable, Tax-Efficient manner. Akshay holds an MSc in Quantitative Finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology Scheller College of Business, which he completed in 2021. He also has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from NIT Tiruchirappalli, which he completed in 2017.
