Alan Cole is an accomplished Engineering Leader with over 14 years of experience in building and growing high-performing engineering teams. Currently serving as the CTO at MatchPint, Alan has been instrumental in building a team that is ready for scale, and has implemented a progression framework for engineers that has resulted in a full collaborative engineering culture. As the architect and leader for all technical projects, Alan has successfully launched MatchPint in two new territories and migrated to a shared to personal cloud. Prior to MatchPint, Alan founded Papertrail, a location-based messaging app, where he served as the Founder and CTO. He built up the product over the last year and secured seed funding to launch a new messaging application that connects users with those nearby and shares messaging with real-world relationships. Alan has also worked as the Lead Developer (Election Staff) at The Labour Party, where he continued to work on membership mobilization and other campaigning tools in preparation for and in support of the 2019 General Election. Alan's educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws - LLB in Mathematics and Statistics from The Open University, where he is currently pursuing his degree, with an expected graduation date of 2024. He also attended Howard of Effingham School from 1999 to 2006. Alan's technical expertise includes Senior Software Engineer and SRE. He is passionate about building awesome things and growing awesome teams, and his ability to attract, build, and retain world-class talent has made him a valuable asset to any organization.
