Alan Pye is a highly accomplished CIO and Corporate Vice President with over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. He is currently leading all IT activities within AMD, building global, scalable IT systems, and network architecture to enable revenue growth, productivity, security, and cost management. Alan is focused on leading digital transformation, leveraging the latest IT capabilities such as cloud-compute, advanced analytics, AI, ML, and IoT, all powered by AMD's latest microprocessor technology, to drive corporate effectiveness and productivity. Before joining AMD, Alan worked at Intel and Altera, where he successfully led and managed all IT activities within both companies. At Intel, he served as the CIO/GM Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) IT, where he partnered with Intel CIO to define and execute the integration philosophy upon acquisition of Altera by Intel. Alan migrated Altera IT systems, services, and processes to Intel architecture, security, and funding standards. He also successfully retired redundant and legacy systems and secured data. At Altera, Alan served as the VP & Chief Information Officer, where he built global, scalable IT systems, and network architecture to enable revenue growth, productivity, security, and cost management. He successfully led transformational change in sales, supply chain, ERP, mobility, BI, and cybersecurity. Alan increased customer intimacy through the establishment of IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) program and championed research into cloud, big data, and mobility technologies to prepare for future investment. Alan holds an MEng degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineers from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School and a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from Coventry University. He has a strong technical background in integration, AI, ML, senior software engineer, big data, and research scientist. Alan has a proven track record of driving down IT support overhead ($s & FTEs) by ~10% year-over-year and reducing storage refresh costs by 33% over two years. He is a strategic thinker, a results-driven leader, and a team player.
