Alan Walczak is a highly experienced Director of Engineering with over 13 years of experience in software engineering and image processing. He is currently working with EagleView as the Director of Engineering - Image Processing, where he leads software engineering for implementing algorithms and designing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for clinical software applications that perform 2D/3D image analysis of coronary blood vessel trees for use in real-time clinical settings. Alan has also designed and implemented GUIs for performing 2D/3D analysis of carotid blood vessels, calculation and analysis of the 3D positions of fiducial marker beads implanted in pig hearts, displaying and analyzing digitized oral radiographs, measuring blood flow rates from angiograms, and semi-automated segmentation of blood vessel lumen from a sequence of ultrasound pull-back image sequences followed by 3D rendering and quantitation of lumen parameters. He has also implemented a Computed Tomography (CT) reconstruction algorithm on a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) using the Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) developed by NVIDIA. In the past, Alan has worked with the University at Buffalo (UB) as an Instructional Support Associate and Principal Research Support Specialist - Toshiba Stroke Research Center, where he gained extensive experience in designing and implementing GUIs for clinical software applications that perform 2D/3D image analysis of coronary blood vessel trees for use in real-time clinical settings. Alan holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University at Buffalo. He has a strong technical background in image processing, senior software engineering, software engineering, product designing, and testing.
