Alastair Donaldson is a Full Professor and the leader of the Multicore Programming group at Imperial College London. With over 16 years of experience in the field, he is an expert in compilers, verifiers, and analyzers for system-level software, particularly concurrent software and software for GPUs. His research focuses on providing better tools for engineering reliable, efficient, and portable applications for modern computer systems. Alastair has a strong background in presenting technical material, writing scientific papers, advanced programming and debugging, testing, and formal verification. He also has experience programming parallel architectures and a deep understanding of algebraic techniques that are useful in computing science. Prior to joining Imperial College London, Alastair worked as a Software Engineer at Google where he led the design of techniques and tools to improve the quality of Android graphics drivers. He also served as a Reader in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London before being promoted to his current position as a Full Professor. Alastair holds a Ph.D. in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow, where he also earned his B.Sc. in Computing Science and Mathematics.
