Albert H. is an experienced Backend Engineer with over a decade of relevant experience in large scale enterprise systems. Currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at DoorDash, he is a product-oriented engineer who is passionate about code quality, performance, thorough testing, and user experience. With a strong server-side background, Albert has worked on complex projects and achieved roadmap goals while collaborating with other teams. He has a proven track record of leading teams and mentoring incoming engineers. In his previous role at Vizio, Albert was the technical lead of the Cloud Services team, where he rebuilt the entire on-boarding process and mentored all incoming engineers. He also led a team of five engineers on a six-month observability initiative, which reduced Cloud Services’ daily error rates and established an observability model for all Platform teams to follow. Additionally, he executed the migration of the proxy service from Elastic Beanstalk to ECS/Fargate, influencing sister teams to adopt Fargate. As a Backend Engineer at HouseCanary, Albert led the effort to decompose a legacy monolith into domain-separated, event-driven microservices. He also led the implementation of machine learning algorithms that resulted in 9% more accuracy than leading competitors. Furthermore, he secured the entirety of HouseCanary Analytics API using proprietary software and OWASP ZAP, enabling DevOps and Platform teams to reach compliance standards. Albert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California. He is experienced in AWS, ECS, Microservices, DevOps, and ML, among others.
