Alec Rust is an experienced front-end web developer with a passion for accessibility, performance, SEO, and meticulously crafted mobile-first user interfaces. He has 13 years of development experience, 9 of which were spent working for large corporations and startups in London. Currently, he is the Head of UI/UX at Featurist, a London-based agency that builds websites and applications for a wide range of clients. Alec has a strong background in web development, having worked on several high-profile projects throughout his career. As a Senior Web Developer at BBC, he was part of a small team that developed a modern stream/magazine style web application to replace the BBC Three TV channel. He also developed an internal library for displaying "cards" of BBC content and learned new technologies such as Node, React, Webpack, and Babel. As the Director of Front End Engineering at Shopa, Alec led the front-end development of the company as the team grew to over 20 employees and received further investment.
