Alejandra Pena is a driven and passionate community builder and impact-focused entrepreneur from Ecuador. She holds an honors Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University. With over five years of experience in community-focused organizations, Alejandra has launched a new loan product for Hispanic entrepreneurs with Kiva, a fin-tech startup in San Francisco, directed a global fellowship for impact entrepreneurs in New York, and founded Aweik, an organization that empowered young Latin Americans to create meaningful enterprises. Alejandra is a TEDx speaker, Oxford's Skoll World Forum panelist, mentor, and judge in various entrepreneurship events around Latin America. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's degree in Psychology in Education from Columbia University and focusing her passion and energy on co-building a community-based mental health platform for Latinas. As the COO of Lolas, Alejandra is responsible for overseeing the operations of Sigma Squared Society, a non-profit organization and global community of the world’s most ambitious founders under 26 selected for their impact-driven initiatives and their ability to transform broken industries. The organization is present in 30+ countries with 1000+ members. Sigma Squared Society is formerly known as Kairos Society. Alejandra's past experiences include serving as an Executive Board Member at Gig- Grupo Industrial Graiman and as an Executive at Sigma Squared Society. She also completed a Summer School Programme in Economics at LSE. With 0.43 years of relevant experience, Alejandra is a highly motivated and accomplished individual with a strong commitment to community building and social impact.
