Alex Cich is a Technical Research Analyst at Netflix with over 6 years of experience in the streaming entertainment and SaaS industry. He is a Support Engineer, Technical Researcher, Project Manager, Data Nerd, Programmer, and Incident Commander, who has a strong background in data analytics and working with Engineering and Product teams to reduce friction for service reliability and customer experience. At Netflix, Alex manages relationships with various Reliability Engineering and Product groups to drive forward product improvements and lessen friction in the customer and CS agent experience. He is responsible for increasing instrumentation and automation for day-to-day operations of the Technical Research team and Netflix CS, troubleshooting and resolving any issues occurring in production, designing and implementing new systems to improve issue discovery, reliability, and resilience of production, and leading technical decision-making for multiple projects and initiatives for CS. Alex has worked with cross-functional teams from Amsterdam to Manila and has experience in Incident Management for streaming and CS. He also participates in Incident captain on-call rotation for CS and triages and responds to production service and BPO outages. Alex has worked with WeWork as a Software Engineer and Technical Support Engineer, where he demonstrated the ability to read and debug code, fulfilled requirements for SOC2 Certification, and exceeded customer expectations by providing an individually tailored service experience. Alex has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Weber State University and an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Park University. He has a strong technical background in Research Science, Software Engineering, Python, and SQL.
