Alex Kaminsky is an experienced engineering manager currently working at Google. With over 14 years of relevant experience, he is a motivated leader who is passionate about the intersection of design, product, and technology. In this role, he managed the Scale engineering teams, which focused on creating generic component-based design systems, developer tooling, and reusable architecture and patterns that were used to scale the entire engineering organization. He managed a mix of both senior ICs and first-time managers, and was heavily involved in the roadmap and strategic planning for his teams. Alex also worked at Reuters as Head of UI Engineering, where he led the creative (front end) engineering team working on Reuters.TV and Reuters.com across mobile apps, web, and set-top box TVs. He managed a team of five engineers, conducted code reviews, held knowledge sharing sessions, and contributed to the products they built. Alex holds a BFA in Interactive Media from Emerson College and an MFA in Digital Arts from Pratt Institute. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Mobile, Redux, Frontend, Web, Javascript, UI, Ruby, Swift, and Kotlin.
