Alex Markowitz is a highly skilled and motivated engineer with a passion for startups and continuing education. With a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, Alex has gained professional work experience in Python (Django), Golang, and JavaScript/TypeScript (React), and is always eager to learn new technologies, including Solidity and Dart. Alex has a strong interest in exploring the intersection of Computer Science and Business, and has applied his skills across a broad range of companies, from entrepreneurial startups in HealthTech and nonprofits, to larger FinTech and enterprise software companies. Currently, Alex is an Engineering Manager at Flowcode, where he was one of the first 10 engineers. Prior to his current role, Alex served as Tech Lead for the Tools & Services team at Flowcode, responsible for all cross-product services powering both Flowcode and Flowpage. He also served as a Full Stack Engineer, where he architected and built a notifications system in Django to process thousands of event-triggered and batched email notifications a day, and mentored an intern through the delivery of an internal admin portal. Alex's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, as well as coursework in Computer Science from Coursera and a High School diploma from Hunter College High School. With 3.69 years of relevant experience, Alex has a strong skill set that includes Senior Software Engineering, Solidity, Django, Python, TypeScript, SQL, JavaScript, Golang, Azure, and Terraform. He is a dedicated and driven individual who is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.
