About
Alex O'Neal is a highly experienced Principal Product/UX Designer currently working at Infor. With over 24 years of relevant experience, Alex is a problem solver who uses design to create solutions. Prior to joining Infor, Alex worked at UXtraordinary, where he was a Designer, Instructor, and Owner. During his time there, he provided UX, product, and development design and strategy, data visualization/dashboards, service design, research, testing, and training services. He was also a contract UX resource for UX agencies, a UX and product design instructor, and a researcher. Alex was the lead instructor for client General Assembly, Austin, where he transformed syllabus structure, improved lesson format, expanded and deepened UX content, and wrote/created lessons for the same. Additionally, he was a consulting Chief Design Officer for cloud services/AI startup Cocolevio. In this role, he provided leadership, client projects, service design, cross-platform experience strategy, front-end development, brand, content strategy, and research. He also edited, developed, and wrote content for both clients and target client audiences. Before joining UXtraordinary, Alex worked at Dell, where he was a Senior Principal Software Designer. In this role, he conducted UX and product design research, reporting, usability testing, wires, prototypes, customer journeys, personas, and service blueprints for in-house Services IT design agency. He was the lead designer for the Engagement Standardization/Configuration Services project, where he created detailed service blueprints for multiple user roles and customer experiences, as well as flows, wires, and prototypes for use cases. Alex also led an internal initiative to formalize contextual inquiry and capture consistent user data, creating data-driven personas for future comparative analysis. He created multiple online tools to capture and share team data, such as a component library for sharing different interaction solutions from the multiple platforms his team supported and a user profile database. Alex holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Texas Woman's University. He has a diverse tech stack that includes designer, test, research scientist, Salesforce, product designer, frontend, and AI.
