Alex Teal is a highly experienced Technical Team Lead Engineer with over 9 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working at oddball as a Technical Team Lead Engineer, where he is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications using React and Rails. He also implements necessary infrastructure to support the project in Terraform and Ansible and grows existing APIs from their infancy to large volume consumption. Alex is an expert in architecting new APIs, including design, documentation, and release strategies, and supports existing consumers to facilitate good relationships and growth. He participates in a Git-based workflow, including code review, CI, and automated deploys, and implements postGIS to support geospatial data querying. Prior to his current role, Alex worked at speed digital as the Director of Software Engineering, where he was responsible for making decisions about hiring and evaluating the development process (Agile). He also designed, developed, and maintained applications using various languages and frameworks on both the frontend and backend, including React, Vue, jQuery, and Rails (Ruby). Alex updated and maintained the CI process through Jenkins and Github and maintained devops and infrastructure using Kubernetes and Docker. He also provided live on-premises support for the product. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from Francis Marion University, where he studied from 2011 to 2013. He also attended the University of South Carolina-Columbia from 2008 to 2010.
