Designed and implemented a scalable data pipeline to provide accurate and timely financial reports to over 1m accounting and finance users. Backend work was made in Ruby, frontend with ReactJS and data pipeline work using Scala (Scalding, Spark), Airflow and Presto/AWS Athena.

Designed and implemented observability and monitoring dashboards, alerts and metrics for business-critical billing applications, mostly using Splunk, SignalFX and Sentry. 

Designed and led the implementation of new features to our core billing platform, enabling several users with special legal requirements to keep incoming funds via online transactions separate from funds used to pay transaction and services fees, allowing > $500k USD in fees to be automated.

Hired, mentored and led a world-class engineering team, leveraging ML and other statistical tools to build credit profiles for financial markets in Mexico & Colombia.

Designed and implemented secure interfaces between our systems and several banks and credit bureaus, using mostly Python as backend and VueJS for the frontend.

Designed and implemented a hybrid cloud infrastructure solution, leveraging AWS HA best practices and Google Cloud kubernetes servers.

Part of a NYC-based team working on several of Google’s internal ad workflow tools, using Google Cloud Platform, Python and AngularJS.

Architect in charge of maintaing a monolithic legacy core .NET backend system and the development of its replacement with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Microservices approaches. 
I was fully involved in both tasks, in the first task achieving stability and regaining full control of deployment issues and other core systems' connections, with almost no documentation and 5 years of continuous patching and several business changes. As a 4-person team, we made several outstanding improvements: Cut business costs derived from getting our customer's credit history by a fourth (saving around ~15k USD), replaced several older peripheral systems that were constantly failing, and led a continuous restructure of the legacy code to allow it to conform to SOA principles.
At the same time, led a 3-person team with replacing that legacy system with a new, SOA-based  approach, leveraging Python, RESTful API design guidelines and enterprise security SSO, API Management and Data Services to meet our goals. This redesign was made taking into account existing ReportingServices structure, data ETL requirements, UI/UX concerns, interoperability with existing systems and scalability of our cloud-based infrastructure.

Led a complete restructure and transition period between use of legacy PHP core business systems and a new, Python-based in-house developed core system as a technical lead without a single minute of downtime. Designed and implemented a working architecture for supporting both systems concurrently, and planned for an eventual deprecation and removal of legacy system. Also designed the next version of a key Android application and it's corresponding backend infrastructure, fixing several important long-standing issues in the process. In my position as lead developer, I worked closely with sales, customer happiness and executives to make meaningful business decisions based on actual facts about the state of IT, set realistic goals for the development team and managed to keep an open channel of communication between the various teams at PingStamp which contributed to a much better product, (easier to sell, easier to maintain) much better customer satisfaction and a much more stable and healthy infrastructure and core systems.

Full-stack web developer leading design and implementation of several telephony-related products, most of them in close relationship with open source PBX systems, as well as general business administration systems. Responsibilities range from configuring production LAMP-based servers, Nginx-based servers, manage several production-ready applications, from-the-ground-up design of new systems (including database modeling), backend code implementation, user interface design and implementation (using JS and CSS3), to background tasks development and application status monitoring.
