Ali Ammaar is a Senior Web Developer with over 6 years of experience in Ruby on Rails. He started his career with a skeptical approach towards programming, but a handsome salary and a successful career attracted him towards this field. He gave himself a year to learn as much as he could about programming and eventually developed a genuine interest in it. Within a year, he became obsessed with writing code and spent all his free time thinking about how problems could be solved in a better way. Today, programming is both his hobby and work, and he is still passionate about it. Ali has worked with various organizations throughout his career, including itsacheckmate, square63, and novatore solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer at itsacheckmate, he is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Ruby on Rails. Previously, at square63 and novatore solutions, he worked as a Ruby on Rails Developer and was part of the core development team. Ali holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology, majoring in Computer Science, from the University of Sargodha. He has a strong technical background in Ruby, Web, Software Engineering, Integration, CI/CD, and testing. He follows best practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, and code standards. Ali believes that it is foolish to force oneself to stay in an industry or job that one is not passionate about. Before programming, he worked as an IT Manager at a well-reputed printing organization and had some other odd jobs spanning multiple different industries, but he hated each one wholeheartedly with a passion. Today, he is happy and satisfied with his work and considers himself lucky to have found his true calling.
