Ali Rokni is a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with over 9 years of experience in the field. Currently, he is associated with Yelp, where he is responsible for developing and implementing advanced machine learning algorithms to improve the overall user experience. Prior to joining Yelp, Ali worked as a Research Intern at Samsung, where he was involved in the design and implementation of adaptive and on-device context learning algorithms. He also served as a Research Assistant at Washington State University, where he focused on developing transfer learning algorithms for expanding human-centric intelligent system capabilities from static settings to dynamic environments with minimal supervision. In his recent research, Ali has been working on developing Convolutional Neural Networks to enable transfer learning in dynamic human-centric environments. Ali holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from Washington State University, a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Software Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Software Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic. His technical expertise includes Machine Learning, Research Scientist, Mobile, and Neural Networks.
