Alice Chan is a highly experienced Senior Director in the field of Compilers and Developer Tools, currently working at SiFive. With over 33 years of relevant experience, Alice has held key positions in several top-notch companies, including Intel and Digital Equipment Corporation (USA). At Digital Equipment Corporation, Alice served as a Principal Software Engineer and led the BMX project, which involved converting MIPS R400 RISC/OS big endian programs to DEC OSF/1 Alpha little endian program. She also designed and implemented the register allocator for the binary translation project (FX!32). At Intel, Alice served as the Vice President and General Manager of Compilers and Languages, where she was responsible for all major compiler activities across the company. She drove the strategies and delivery of the Intel Compiler Products supporting a wide range of Intel processors, including Xeon, dGPU, and FPGA. Her work impacted over 100K users supporting critical operations in numerous multinational companies. Alice also led teams who made open source contributions to gcc & LLVM and had leadership roles in key language standard committees, including C/C++, Fortran, SYCL, OpenMP, with an emphasis on shaping the future of parallel programming. Alice holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, where she completed her education in 1989.
