Alicia A. is a seasoned UX Researcher with over 11 years of experience in the industry. She is currently working as a UX Researcher and Product Designer at xaxis, where she conducts end-to-end product user research to track and improve the quality of B2B software product features and tools. Alicia is also responsible for facilitating and leading UX workshops to align all key stakeholders on user problems, user needs, and project goals. She captures research insights to provide recommendations to help direct two other UX/UI Designers for next steps with clarity. Previously, Alicia worked as a UX Researcher and Website Designer at Johns Hopkins University's Centers for Civic Impact. In this hybrid full-stack design and developer role, she conducted UX research, usability testing, UI and visual design, and front-end development with some back-end responsibilities. Alicia designed and coded digital software products for the center's funders, including Bloomberg Philanthropies, Bill and Melinda Gates. She conducted user research interviews, feedback surveys, and created prototypes to present to design stakeholders and internal staff. Alicia also used Figma to create clickable prototypes to visualize user needs based on collaboration with department team members and leaders. Alicia is a highly skilled UX Researcher and Product Designer Contractor, having worked with notable clients such as Wells Fargo and Cisco. As a freelancer, she has helped startup businesses in between full-time positions over the years. Alicia is proficient in various tech stacks, including Research Scientist, designer, product designer, UI, Frontend, Backend, Javascript, test, Django, ReactJS, Python, Web, qa, and Software Engineer. Alicia holds a User Experience Design degree from General Assembly and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is passionate about merging user-centered design with business vision for strategy in her next user research role.
