Alison Buki is a creative and experienced software engineer currently working at Teachable. With over 15 years of relevant experience, Alison is a skilled web engineer with expertise in design systems, beautiful and fast UIs, interactive storytelling, data visualization, WebGL/AR/VR, tech DE&I, and collaborating with smart and kind individuals. In her current role as a Software Engineer at Teachable, Alison is responsible for driving product innovation and UX improvements via experimentation on the Growth team. She is proficient in React, Typescript, AngularJS, and Ruby on Rails. Prior to joining Teachable, Alison worked as a Frontend Developer at The Atlantic, where she designed and maintained design systems using HTML/SCSS, ES6, and ReactJS. She also worked as a UX Designer/Developer at the Society for Science & the Public, where she designed and developed landing pages, email marketing templates, data collection and payment forms, and interactive news stories and data visualizations using various tools such as HTML/CSS/SASS, JS/JQuery, D3, ThreeJS, Bootstrap 4, Git/Bitbucket, Sketch/AI/Photoshop for design work, Keynote/InVision for prototyping. Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Film and Media Studies from Stanford University, and has also completed courses in JavaScript Development, Front-End Web Development, Visual Design, and Graphic Design from General Assembly and Corcoran College of Art and Design.
