Allen Chang is an experienced Engineering Manager currently working at Google, where he holds the position of Software Engineering Manager in the Search - Engineering Productivity division. With a career spanning over 12 years, Allen has gained extensive experience in the field of software engineering and technology. Prior to joining Google, Allen worked as Manager/Staff SRE at Happy Money, a remote role based in San Francisco. He was responsible for managing the Site Reliability Engineering team, ensuring the reliability and availability of the platform. Before that, Allen worked at Goldman Sachs as Vice President in Technology, where he was part of the engineering team for the Apple Card project. Initially, he was the engineering lead for developer productivity and CI/CD automation, built in AWS. Recently, he transitioned over to cloud infra lead in San Francisco, covering runtime platform infra, AWS cost management, and developer practices around infrastructure as code (IaC). Allen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, which he completed in 2010. His education and experience have equipped him with a deep understanding of software engineering and technology, and he is well-versed in a wide range of tech stacks, including Senior Software Engineer, SRE, Search, AWS, infra, and CI/CD.
