Alwin Joseph Thayyil is a skilled Senior Application Security Engineer with over 5 years of experience in Penetration testing of Web and mobile applications. With an in-depth knowledge of OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities and other attacks, Alwin is an expert in manually analyzing requests/responses, planning different attacks, and identifying common vulnerabilities. He has extensive experience in using various tools including Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Acunetix, SQL Map, Androbugs, Genymotion, and IBM Appscan to carry out effective penetration testing. Currently working as a Cyber Security Analyst at TCS, Alwin has previously worked as a Security Test Engineer at Advanced, where he performed Application Vulnerability Scanning and Penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities for all the products. He has a proven track record of preparing detailed Penetration test reports that include mitigation plans and proposing security enhancements to the products to keep up with the security trends and changing internal and external requirements. Alwin has also evaluated new security tools and worked closely with technical architects/leads to review, recommend, and consult on security matters. Alwin holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science from AVCE. He also has a strong educational background, with a +2 degree from St Vincent Higher Secondary School Pala and a 5th Grade to 10th-grade education from Chavara Public School Pala. In addition to his professional experience and educational background, Alwin possesses a wide range of technical skills, including test, SQL, Mobile, Web, SDET, and QA.
