Amaan Khullar is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 4 years of relevant experience in Full Stack development, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer at Samsara, Inc, where he is a part of the Safety team, working with technologies such as Go, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL. Prior to this, he worked as a Software Engineer at MongoDB, where he was a part of the Realm Cloud Core team, working with Go, React, TypeScript, and Node. Amaan has also worked as a Research Engineer in Natural Language Processing at the Columbia Center for Computational Learning Systems. Here, he extended support for Levantine Arabic dialects in the identification of linguistic features such as Part-of-Speech and lemmas for use in MADAMIRA. He generated models relying on Support Vector Machines to classify annotated Palestinian dialectal data with 90+% accuracy over various metrics including Part-of-Speech classification accuracy. Additionally, he scraped and processed Arabic text in the Syrian dialect from various social media platforms for further annotation, resulting in a corpus in excess of 60K words. Amaan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science - Intelligent Systems Track from Columbia University. He also has experience in Graphic Design, having completed a Summer Institute for Graphic Design Studies at Rhode Island School of Design.
