Amal Saha, Ph.D. is an experienced technology and quantitative risk management professional with a career spanning over 25 years. He has spent the last eight years working in quant/numerical computations and risk management, and another eight years in financial trading system development and use. He is currently working as an i-Bank Front Office Algo Validator and Quantitative Risk Manager for Algo Trading at NatWest. Amal's work involves engaging with business, technology, quant, conduct, and regulatory remediation stakeholders for the validation of pricing, execution, and investment decision-making algos in i-bank. He is passionate about helping improve and evolve the process and ensure compliance with various regulations like MiFID-II, PRA, FCA, etc. In addition, Amal focuses on designing and developing analytics reports for the conduct and the like with Python. Amal is a natural leader who enjoys leading a team for innovation and timely delivery of algo validation and analytics. He is also excited about developing policy and procedures, such as testing procedures, required for algo trading. Amal leverages his experience in computations in academic research, technology leadership, and financial domain knowledge for BAU delivery, innovation, and stakeholder management across algo lifecycle stages. Before joining NatWest, Amal worked as a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at SGT University, where he focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and scientific Python usage in areas of text analytics (NLP), image processing, classification/regression, etc. He has also worked as a freelance data science consultant for various clients in the financial services and e-commerce domains. Amal holds a Ph.D. in Physics, Data Reduction and Analysis from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, a Master's Degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Physics and Mathematics from Presidency University/College, Kolkata. He has also been a Visiting Fellow in Physics at the Max Planck Institute, Munich, Germany. Amal is proficient in Python and has expertise in various areas such as ML, AI, Image Processing, Deep Learning, NLP, and Data Science. With 23.21 years of relevant experience, Amal is a valuable asset to any organization he works for.
