Amanda King is a UX Designer, Project Manager, and Content Writer with a passion for design and a background in education. With seven years of experience as a Junior High English teacher, Amanda honed her communication and problem-solving skills, and developed a talent for simplifying complex information to make it digestible for her students. She realized that her favorite part of teaching was designing the visual components that supported her students' learning, and this led her to pursue a career in UX/UI design. Amanda's approach to design is user-centered, and she applies design principles to identify both client and user needs. She has experience crafting visually appealing solutions, delivering high-quality instructional designs, dashboards, social media campaigns, pitch decks, in-house teaching tools, digital products, websites, and copy. Her clients include industry leaders in HR, Marketing, Music, Finance, and Education. As a fast learner, Amanda is skilled at quickly making connections and seeing patterns that others may not, making her a valuable asset for teams looking to uncover golden nuggets of insight that make a big difference in designing the right solutions. She is also a natural leader who creates communities by listening to and empathizing with those around her. Amanda has found herself in leadership positions throughout her life, not because she is the smartest or most charismatic person in the room, but because she surrounds herself with the smartest people and works to learn from them and apply that learning to new projects. Amanda's past experience includes co-founding and leading a successful UX design agency focused on helping organizations maximize profitability through analyzing pain points within the customer experience and ideating data-driven design solutions that optimize product usability. She has also served as the Director of Athletics at North Davis Preparatory Academy, where she hired, led, and trained a diverse group of coaches, assistants, and volunteers to oversee 300+ student athletes in 9 different seasonal sports. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Brigham Young University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Grand Canyon University, and a UX/UI Certificate from the University of Utah Professional Education Boot Camps. Her tech stack includes skills in design, research, and UI.
