Amandeep Saluja is a seasoned software engineer with 5.86 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently, he works as an SDE III at gojek, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions for the company. Prior to this, he worked as an iOS developer at toppr, where he led the development of the company's highest-selling module, Practice and Tests. He also worked on iPad support and created a private pod for onboarding with backend-driven UI written entirely in RxSwift, which was reused across multiple Toppr apps. Amandeep followed best coding standards like Clean-Architecture, MVVM, and Reactive programming, which resulted in high-quality code and efficient app performance. Amandeep optimized the post creation pipeline by rendering processed video on a metal-backed view and adding three layers of compression with HEVEC support. He fine-tuned compression in the third layer by using a highly configurable low-level AVAssetWriter class. Amandeep also rewrote feed in Texture (formerly Async Display Kit) to achieve 60 fps even on low-end devices like iPhone 5c with multiple videos playing at the same time. He implemented a custom social sharing sheet similar to that of TikTok's and replaced collection view with IGListKit to make maintenance easier and updates simpler.
