Amaresan Venkatesan is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with over 17 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently working at Brocade, he is responsible for addressing issues found in SQA testing for IGMPoMCT to release defect-free software to customers. Amaresan has also worked on software implementation of IGMP/Multicast over the MCT (Multi-Chassis Trunking) Setup in SLXOS and implemented per-port tracking in the IGMP module of MLXOS to segregate the host connected ports and switch-connected ports. He was instrumental in implementing the IGMP 100ms Last membership Query Interval in the system for supporting a customer need for immediate leave. Amaresan has also played a key role in managing and coordinating the team across the USA and India to work on various multicast releases. He has worked on the software implementation of Multicast ECMP and has handled multiple defects in the Bridge-Domain module to support Point to Point and Point to Multi-point Packet flow in Bridge-domain. He has also designed MO (Managed Objects) for the Logical Interface and implemented the complete REST-based CLI Front end and Backend. In his previous role at Cisco, Amaresan worked on the porting of multicast tables for new hardware with scaling capabilities and implemented multicast optimization supported in the HW to avoid creating multiple copies of packets. He was also involved in porting the FWM (Forwarding module) to BIGSUR (Cisco Asic) and worked on bug fixing. At Fujitsu, Amaresan defined and implemented Generic domains (user-defined proprietary flows) in the system and integrated the 3rd party Spanning tree protocol (STP) with the bigger system.
