Ambareesh Revanur is a skilled graduate research student with a passion for developing algorithms and machine learning models for digital healthcare. He is currently pursuing an MS in Computer Science (Robotics) at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is working on deep learning research for video understanding with an application in healthcare. With almost two years of relevant experience, Ambareesh has a strong background in cloud application development and machine learning. He is proficient in TensorFlow, PyTorch, and microservices-based architecture. In addition, he has worked as a data scientist with Walmart, where he curated large-scale image datasets for fashion-related tasks and developed deep learning models for learning compatibility of items in a large corpus of fashion images. His work was accepted at the ACM RecSys'21 conference and selected for oral presentation. Ambareesh is also a co-organizer of the 1st Vision for Vitals 2021 (V4V) workshop and challenge at ICCV 2021. He is the data chair for the workshop and is responsible for developing the workshop's data challenges. Ambareesh is a Google AI Summer Scholar'20 and is always keen to share his knowledge and experience with others. He is happy to chat with prospective students about the MSR program at CMU and provide advice to them. Ambareesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore, and has completed an AI Summer School program from Google Research.
