Ambuj Gupta is a Power Systems Software Developer with a focus on Electricity Markets Modelling. He has a Master's degree in Power Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and over 3 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently working at Siemens in Bangalore, Ambuj is part of the Energy Market Management R&D team, where he develops software for Energy Market operators such as CAISO, PEMC (IEMOP), and AEMO. Ambuj's research interests lie in areas of Power System Analysis and Electricity Markets. During his time at IIT Delhi, he developed a market-clearing framework for energy and ancillary service markets incorporating operational and physical characteristics of Battery Energy Storage Systems. For his thesis, he was awarded the POSOCO Power System Award, recognizing it as one of the top 10 in India. Apart from his primary focus on Electricity Markets Modelling, Ambuj has experience in Power System Operation and Control, Power System Analysis, Power System Protection, and Machine Learning through academic projects and coursework. Before joining Siemens, Ambuj had worked as Mess Secretary at IIT Delhi, where he was responsible for managing a team of 45 people serving 650+ students from 3 hostels and organizing events through the year. He was conferred with the Best Mess Secretary's award by the Board of Hostel Management (BHM, IIT Delhi) for the year 2019-20. Additionally, he had also mentored around 60 final year undergraduate students for power engineering laboratory experiments as a Teaching Assistant at IIT Delhi. Ambuj's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Technology, G.B.P.U.A&T, Pantnagar, and an Intermediate degree from Delhi Public School, Ranipur Haridwar. He has a strong technical skill set, including expertise in Software Engineering, Research Science, and Machine Learning.
