Amer Ameen is a blockchain and Web 3.0 R&D enthusiast with over 13 years of relevant experience in the field. As the VP of Project Management at ChainSafe Systems, he is leading the PM group in the development of bleeding-edge blockchain research and solutions. He believes that blockchain and Web3.0 technologies have the potential to bring more fairness and freedom to society, and he is passionate about contributing to this cause. Aside from his professional work, Amer is also an active volunteer with the Toronto Distress Center and Canada Suicide Prevention Services. He is passionate about developing his Active Listening skills and has given talks to help others develop theirs. Amer is also an avid meditator and has completed two Vipassana, 10-day silent meditation courses. He loves traveling and has backpacked for six months in 2017. Amer also enjoys adventurous outdoor activities such as snowboarding, scuba diving, and hiking. He has been to Burning Man three times and counting. Amer's career highlights include being the first PM at ChainSafe Systems, where he helped define the PM processes and scale the organization. He has also worked on several open-source projects and ecosystems, including Gossamer (Polkadot), Forest (Filecoin), Ethermint (Cosmos), and Geth-classic (Ethereum Classic). Amer has also contributed as a writer to Hacker Noon. Amer has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and an Ontario Secondary School Diploma from White Oaks Secondary School. His tech stack includes blockchain, senior software engineering, product management, smart contracts, web development, Ethereum, Web3, Bitcoin, and research science. Amer is always eager to connect with like-minded individuals and cultivate deeper and more meaningful relationships beyond typical professional connections.
