Ameya Usgaonkar is a highly experienced Principal Engineer with over 19 years of experience in storage software. He has a proven track record of investigating, architecting, and prototyping software to increase business opportunities. Ameya is also a technical leader who excels at solving challenging problems. Ameya's experience covers both server and storage appliance system software, including kernel software, device drivers, file systems, RAID, High Availability (HA), SCSI, and SAN. He enjoys writing technical papers, architecture design specifications, prototyping, and filing invention reports. Currently, Ameya is a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he works on Edge, VRAN, and Cloud engineering. Prior to his current role, he worked as a Principal Engineer at Ericsson Telecommunications Inc., where he focused on telemetry engineering for RAN deployments in Operations Manager for Cloud. He also served as a Principal Engineer at Komprise, where he helped scale-out the Komprise Cloud File System to support multiple cloud targets from a single instance. Ameya holds an MTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Engineering from the College of Engineering, Goa.
