Amine Toualbi is a software engineer at Microsoft with a passion for building scalable backend systems and mobile apps for Android and iOS. He chose to pursue a career in Computer Science with the ambition of impacting others through technology. During his time at Southern Utah University, Amine founded a mobile app club, was involved in multiple organizations on campus, and devoted a lot of his time to initiate and share his passion of computer science with people. He has experience in backend engineering and is constantly striving to hone his skills and learn new technologies. Amine has previously worked as a software engineering intern at The New York Times, where he interned in the Android Core Newsreader team. He improved the efficiency of developers across teams by entirely modularizing and refactoring the Beta Settings module to Kotlin and AndroidX, providing a more intuitive visual navigation. He also implemented dynamic rotation of keys in Google SSO using the NYTimes login API. Additionally, he collaborated in a team of 7 interns that delivered an internal tool to identify which articles are trending where. Individually, he developed its public-facing Android app using Google Maps, GraphQL, and Apollo. Furthermore, Amine built and led a team of 8 employees and drove iOS development of NYT Visual, an app presenting news in a visual way for younger audiences. The project was among the hackathon's winners. He has also worked as a computer science tutor at Southern Utah University, where he tutored students for Java programming courses and led many discussions about programming problems in group and one-on-one settings. Amine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Southern Utah University and Bridgewater State University. His tech stack includes software engineering, backend, Android, iOS, mobile, and Kotlin. With 3.19 years of relevant experience, Amine is constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to make a difference in the world of technology.
