Amit Agarwal is a seasoned engineering leader with over 13 years of experience in different domains of B2B SaaS, e-commerce, auto ecosystem, classified, social network, and prop tech. He has technical expertise in highly scalable distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and cloud-based applications. Amit is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he obtained a degree in Textiles. Currently, Amit works as a Senior Engineering Manager at Hiver, where he leads the email channel team responsible for driving more than 80% of customer revenues. He has championed change in processes to realize the true potential of Agile deliveries across the dev teams through predictable releases and helped the team to build practice of effective Agile ceremonies of grooming, planning, and Retro. Amit is working closely with Product & Engineering Leadership to build visibility & execution predictability into quarterly roadmaps. He has ramped up the team from 7 to 15 engineers with zero attrition in a span of 7 months. He has built and worked on the growth and development plan for each team member. Amit has rolled out some of the core features on a B2B SaaS collaboration platform involving product-led growth strategy, which is the foundation for kicking-in the network effect in terms of user acquisition. In his previous roles, Amit has worked as a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering at Expedia, where he led the API First initiative for the next generation Travel platform for Expedia group. He has also worked as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Expedia, where he built and was part of the core patent-winning engineering team who delivered the architectural revamp of the enterprise messaging platform, enabling 2 $mn USD cost savings per annum. Amit is an expert in Java/J2EE, Microservices, NoSQL databases (Cassandra), AWS (Lambda, Dynamodb, Arora DB, SQS, Cloud watch, S3), Apache Kafka, SQL databases, and other relevant tech stacks. He has extensive experience in building, leading, and managing engineering teams. Amit has demonstrated an ability to motivate and influence people to deliver best-in-class products.
