Amit Ghosh is a Big Data/Machine Learning/Software Engineer with over 15 years of experience in Java/J2EE/Big Data related technologies. Currently, he is working at Walmart as an SE 3 at WalmartLabs, where he is building a Machine Learning/Deep Learning platform to support data scientists in coming up with models that can be deployed quickly and scaled effectively. Amit has a passion for algorithms, data structures, software design, and problem-solving, and he constantly strives to become a better programmer each day. His journey into the world of Big Data began with Search Engine technologies for an enterprise, where he worked on a custom Recommendation Engine built on the Hadoop Stack using Machine Learning algorithms. He was also part of building an event aggregation platform on Hadoop stack on AWS for millions of events per day. Amit has experience in scaling a set of forecast models for millions of products for all US stores. He has also worked on building a Real-Time Data Matching (Entity Resolution) platform from many datasets having billions of records using technologies like Spark, Kafka, Storm, and other Big Data technologies. Amit is currently working on building a Machine Learning platform for data scientists across the enterprise using Big Data stack, Cloud, and other open-source technologies. He loves to evangelize new technologies on the Big Data stack and connect with people having interesting problems. Amit has worked with several companies in the past, including Harman and Honeywell Technology Solutions Labs, where he worked as a Senior Software Engineer II and Engineer, respectively. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University. Amit also holds a High School Certificate from St. Mary's English High School.
