Amit is an experienced engineering leader with a solid technical background of 15 years in software development in the travel domain. He has a high risk appetite towards start-up businesses and has been instrumental in building the first hotel inventory management system for Travel Guru, which has been the largest distributor for hotel inventory in India for many years. Amit has worked in multiple roles to build and develop end-to-end scalable solutions for the hotel industry. Amit holds a post-graduation degree from IIT Kharagpur and has honed his skills in core technology development, new-age technology, scalable platforms, team management, and design thinking. His academic and professional experience has resulted in building futuristic products with disruptive implications both in the B2C and B2B domains. At Jio, Amit has built the travel team from scratch and successfully spearheaded the travel initiatives of Jio. He has built a strong rock-solid technical and product team, enabled high-end features for existing travel products, and successfully completed the booking platform for hotels within challenging timelines. As an engineering manager at Jio, he mentors and motivates 17 highly talented engineers to build future-driven technical platforms and products by fostering new professional opportunities for himself and the team. Amit is an experienced programmer with strong java experience. He has a thorough understanding of the software development life-cycle and in-depth knowledge of the travel domain (technical as well as business knowledge).
