Amit Kumar is a highly experienced payments engineering professional with a strong background in building and leading high-performance engineering teams. With 15 years of product development experience and a Master's degree in Computer Science (Data Mining) from NTU Singapore, Amit has a proven track record of success in the industry. Amit has held several leadership positions, including Director of Engineering for Olacabs in India, where he built and led a team of 40 members, including Backend Dev, QA, Devops, Android, IOS, and Windows Developers. He helped the business grow to 8x in just 10 months by creating a payments platform for Olacabs. Amit also created the DataPlatform team from scratch, handling massive data and solving several big-data use cases, including data-analytics, data ingestion, and highly scalable real-time stream processing frameworks. Amit is a technologist with global leadership experience at Microsoft, IBM, Apigee, and Ola. He has built software products in areas of e-commerce, web services management, and data-mining, big-data, and analytics. Amit is also the founder of a startup in the recruitment space, Skillcafe.com. Amit's specialties include building and scaling product development organizations from zero to hundreds of engineers, hands-on technical competence required to build scalable distributed systems, big data, data sciences, analytics systems, and machine learning. He has experience with tech giants like Microsoft and IBM, as well as startups like Apigee (20th employee) and Olacabs.
