Amit Krishnan is a Software Development Manager at Amazon AWS Aurora, leading a team that is focused on developing innovative solutions in the data streaming and management space to power the next generation of cloud databases. With over 9 years of relevant experience in the industry, Amit has established himself as a specialist in distributed systems and database storage. Before joining Amazon, Amit worked as a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer at Couchbase, where he gained extensive experience in building distributed systems for NoSQL databases. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Oracle, where he was responsible for leading the development of the Docker Engine port to Solaris platform, adding Solaris OCI container compatibility to docker/containerd, and designing and implementing an IPC mechanism in Solaris for inter-VM communication. Amit holds a Masters of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation from the University of Mumbai and VESIT. He completed his schooling at Bombay Scottish School. Amit is an expert in AWS, software engineering, web development, Docker, and senior software engineering. He is currently hiring engineers at all levels in Palo Alto and Bangalore for Amazon AWS Aurora and is looking for distributed systems generalists or individuals with deep expertise in distributed database storage who are interested in joining his team.
