Amit Phulera is a Full Stack Engineer at Dimagi with over 6 years of professional experience in the computer world. He is an optimist who is driven by impact and loves to explore the ever-changing web world. Amit has worked with various languages and frameworks, including JS and Python, and has experience working with major cloud service providers such as Azure, Bluemix, GCP, and AWS. During his time at SmartJoules, Amit led the software development efforts of the smart energy management system "DeJoule" that he and his team built from scratch. He helped in scaling and shaping the product and the team, and DeJoule is now processing about 72 million unique data points per day, saving enough energy to power 50 households per year. Currently, Amit is using his software development skills to improve Dimagi's opensource platform Commcare, with the aim of improving global development efforts to help accelerate the end of extreme poverty. Amit's expertise includes setting up highly scalable infrastructures on AWS, writing APIs and services on NodeJS, and creating REST APIs for IoT devices. He has also worked on optimizing MongoDB and creating UI/UX for Smart Joules devices. Amit holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with specialization in Cloud Based Applications from DIT University.
