Amit Schnitzer is a highly experienced Big Data Developer with over 28 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as a Cloud Security Architect at Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd., where he is part of the global overlay team responsible for the company's SDDC portfolio. In this role, Amit develops training and knowledge materials and trains field SE and partners globally. He is also involved in large-scale deployments from a design and planning perspective and provides hands-on Early Availability/Proof of Concept support across a variety of cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, IBM SoftLayer, and Dimension Data. Prior to his current role, Amit served as Director of Production Operations and Support at Pontis, where he led a technical group of engineers worldwide and was responsible for the company's technical operations aspects. During his tenure, Amit designed and rebuilt the production operation team to support the company's business growth, reducing operational expenditure by 40% and improving operational efficiency and time to market by introducing a "private cloud" approach into production environments. He also established an offshore extension of the group to allow geographical redundancy, extended support hours, and improved hiring time of professionals.
