Amit Sehgal is a highly skilled Principal Engineering Manager with over 18 years of experience in the technology industry. Currently working at Microsoft, he is responsible for leading a team of 10+ engineers in building the Skype for Business business platform for the SfB Mobile and Mac applications. Additionally, he is also responsible for building the Application Platform SDK for SfB. With a strong background in software engineering, Amit has previously held the role of Sr Engineering Manager at Microsoft. In this role, he was responsible for evolving the quality and capabilities of the business layer of the Skype for Business Mobile application for iOS, Android, Windows Phone & Mac OS platform. Prior to this, he worked as a Sr Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he played a crucial role in redesigning the application to communicate with newer web services, enhancing features in the mobile application like more auth type support, conversation history design, call transfers, etc. His role then evolved to that of a Technical Lead for the client application business layer. Amit holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky, where he completed his education in 2005. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from Ramrao Adik Institue of Technology, which he completed in 1997.
