Amit Shinde is an experienced Software Engineer currently working at Spotify. With a relevant experience of 7.45 years, he has worked with some of the leading companies in the industry. Prior to his current role, Amit worked as a Software Engineer at Udacity, where he developed a quiz tool to recommend basic to advanced courses of web development, data science, and artificial intelligence based on the quiz results. He also automated the landing page creation process by integrating angular components to Contentful models, which reduced the new landing page launch time from 2 days to a couple of hours. Amit also implemented questionnaire forms in angular for user data collection to understand their educational/professional background, which was used to implement accurate course recommendations and career guidance services. He also redesigned course overview pages that showed high conversion rates in A/B tests. Before Udacity, Amit worked as a Software Engineer at Rakuten, where he designed and implemented features for e-commerce applications that merchants used to increase sales/orders and streamline inventory. He automated the application build process with Build & Deploy technologies and leveraged Jenkins and Bamboo for Continuous Deployments/Delivery to decrease end-to-end deployment times and reduce downtime. Amit also improved database bottlenecks of a high-scale application by batching the repetitive database queries, which improved the item creation time by 40%. He delivered technical talks on topics like Ansible, Continuous Integration, and Deployment. Amit holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science from Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
