Amit Singh is a seasoned engineering leader with over 20 years of experience in software development and management. He has spent over a decade in Fintech and is currently the Managing Director of Payments Processing Platform at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Amit manages a team of 500+ engineers located across the globe working on end-to-end payment processing stack. He is experienced in building highly scalable and continuously available payments processing systems. Amit's passion lies in delivering high-quality work with agility. He is a tech-savvy professional with expertise in C++, Java, UNIX, Oracle, and RESTful services. Currently, he is working on building PayPal's next-generation payment engine, and he is committed to delivering a simplified, configurable, and self-resilient platform that caters to all brands and partners. Before joining JPMorgan, Amit was the Senior Director of Engineering at PayPal, where he managed the core payments processing platform. He transformed the platform to meet PayPal's ambitious business goals and worked with top technology leaders in the company to develop and define a roadmap to execute the strategy. He provided technical vision and guidance, drove high-quality execution, and recruited and retained top talent through hiring, coaching, and mentoring. Amit hired, mentored, and developed best-of-class engineers and technical managers and oversaw a global expansion of engineering teams. Amit has a degree in Electronics Engineering from North Maharashtra University and a DAC in Computer Science from C-DAC. He also holds a B.E. in Electronics from SSVPS College of Engineering. He started his career as an Application Programmer at IBM, where he was responsible for designing and developing applications using C++ on the UNIX platform for GM, AT&T, and Sprint.
