Amit Singh is a highly accomplished Principal Applied Scientist Manager at Microsoft with over 16 years of experience in the field of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. He is responsible for leading large teams of scientists and engineers located in India, overseeing the research and development of web scale distributed serving systems that power sponsored search in Microsoft Advertising marketplace. Additionally, he and his team are responsible for preventing malicious use of Microsoft Ads platform by bad actors globally, including policy compliance, payment fraud, phishing, malware, and spam. Amit's core expertise lies in understanding users, content, and actions using large scale machine learning and deep learning techniques. He has worked on various projects related to query/ads understanding, representation learning, deep multilingual NLP, relevance and ranking, computer vision, product graph, editorial, fraud, spam, malware, phishing, and more, all for ad campaigns. Prior to joining Microsoft, Amit worked at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, where he was involved in several research projects related to machine comprehension, clinical NLU, language learning, QA archives, and resume mining and ranking. Amit holds a degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has a strong technical background and is skilled in research, NLP, deep learning, computer vision, NLU, ML, search, web, and QA.
