Amit Verma is an experienced technical professional with over 12 years of experience in building large scale web and enterprise applications. He has built several products in start-ups from prototype to multiple releases and has a passion for technology, scalability, and machine learning algorithms solving interesting problems. Amit has also built an engineering team of high performing engineers from the ground up and collaborates with product managers/senior management in creating roadmaps. Amit has extensive experience in managing the delivery of projects going through all stages from creating functional specifications, creating design specifications, planning, and coordination with external teams. He specializes in engineering management, large-scale applications, machine learning, and agile (Scrum). Currently, Amit is the Head of Engineering at Practo, where he leads the engineering team to build innovative solutions that transform healthcare. Prior to this, he was the Sr. Director of Engineering and Director of Engineering at BigBasket, where he played a crucial role in building and scaling the company's technology platform. Amit holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and has also completed his schooling from St. Xavier's Junior School.
